Our Off-Road is designed to take food and nature lovers on an adventurous journey to these incredible, hard-to-reach corners for a truly unique lunch experience, meticulously curated by the El Pretexto team. We welcome you to go On the Road with an adventurous, off-road twist!

Once again, we are thrilled to welcome back Puerto Rican, Cayey-born, Michelin-star winner Chef Jonathan Meléndez of Casa Mono, New York. Jonathan will join us to work with local ingredients he loves to incorporate into his incredible sauces, featuring flavorful vegetables and fruits. With over 20 years of experience in local and international kitchens, his return is a much-anticipated event.

Joining Jonathan to co-create this amazing dinner experience is El Pretexto's Guest Chef, Luis Cabrero. Luis is celebrated for his use of smoked and traditional techniques, honoring family recipes and local ingredients. He brings over 20 years of experience in the food industry, including 11 years at La Hacienda.

The fourth event of our third season will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Finca Pueblo Nuevo, Ciales. This is a truly off-road experience, and due to the remote location, a 4x4 vehicle is required for access, or at least the willingness to leave the car parked on the main road and hop in a farm-owned 4×4 for about 10 minutes to get to the farm.

The adventure begins with a ride through a Para La Naturaleza’s reserve to get to the farm, which is a valley surrounded by the Northern Karst (El Carso del Norte), then you will meet the authors of this magical agroecological farm with a tour by the farmers Dilo and Javi. Then we will continue to celebrate with a sparkling wine followed by a family-style lunch and beautiful wines by Mendez Wine Selection Sommeliers. We will all be seated at shared tables. The price is per person and includes food, wine pairing, filtered water, and service. To respect the event's logistics, changes in the menu cannot be made.
