2025-26 Off Road: Bosque y Quebrada Sonadora, Naguabo - Mar, 29, 2026
Puerto Rico is an island overflowing with fantastic food and breathtaking landscapes. Each corner possesses its own unique character, showcasing specialized, locally sourced ingredients. Our Off-Road is designed to take food lovers on an adventurous journey to these incredible, hard-to-reach corners for a truly unique dining experience, meticulously curated by the El Pretexto team. We welcome you to On the Road with an adventurous, off-road twist!
Once again, we are thrilled to welcome back Puerto Rican, Cayey-born, Michelin-star winner Chef Jonathan Meléndez of Casa Mono, New York. Jonathan will join us to work with local ingredients he loves to incorporate into his incredible sauces, featuring flavorful vegetables and fruits. With over 20 years of experience in local and international kitchens, his return is a much-anticipated event.
Joining Jonathan to co-create this amazing dinner experience is El Pretexto's Guest Chef, Luis Cabrero. Luis is celebrated for his use of smoked and traditional techniques, honoring family recipes and local ingredients. He brings over 20 years of experience in the food industry, including 11 years at La Hacienda.
The fifth event of this season will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Bosque y Quebrada Sonadora, Naguabo. This is a private property in the south slopes of El Yunque National Forest. The experience will begin with a Forest Therapy walking towards the beautiful quebrada (water stream), where we will begin to celebrate Nature’s wonders with a sparkling wine, followed by a family-style lunch surrounded by the quebrada, with an outstanding wine pairing carefully designed by Mendez Wine Selection sommeliers. Reserve your space today and join us in celebrating the beauty of the Puerto Rican countryside and this hidden gem, on our exclusive Off-Road experience!
There will be regular car, parking spaces next to the entrance of the property. Ability to walk and comfortable walking shoes or boots are needed for this particular experience as we will be walking downhill towards the quebrada.
The menu includes seasonal local ingredients and may vary depending on availability.
We will all be seated at shared tables. The price is per person and includes food, wine pairing, filtered water, and service. To respect the event's logistics, changes in the menu cannot be made. This event is for adults 18+ only; pets are not allowed, and cigarette smoking is not permitted. We reserve the right of admission and permanence on the premises. Thank you for your understanding!
Additional service:
Photos and videos can be taken and uploaded to social media but we strongly ask that you don’t tag the location. As these places are reserves, it is very important to respect its peacefulness and restricted access. We thank you upfront for your support with this.
Our cancellation policy:
Purchase reimbursement will only occur if canceled 72 hours before the event. Why? By this time we have already done the purchase of all food and drinks for the reserved spaces and we are definitely counting on your presence. If something unexpected happened, we invite you to let us know, and check if a family or friend can purchase your spaces as we will do our best to find someone to buy them for you but we cannot guarantee it.
