The Long Table | La Mesa Larga
The Long Table at El Pretexto is our new farm-to-table experience. A decidedly more casual approach, with as much open fire cooking and seasonal local produce as we can get our hands on.
The evening begins with a short walk through our project, gardens, and farming areas, reconnecting with the land, the chickens, and the seasonal ingredients that shape our meals. We then sit together at one long shared table for 4-5 courses of family-style food, celebrating ingredients sourced from our farm and local producers.
Food is served in abundance, meant to be shared. Conversations unfold naturally. Keeping to our mission of creating a magical space to gather and connect with new people.
Some evenings feature our kitchen team; others welcome invited chefs and great home cooks to share their artwork alongside us. Local first. Seasonal first. Always generous. Every time, connected to the countryside. The experience is intimate, unhurried, and deeply rooted in the mountains of Cayey.
Depending on the sunset time, we will begin between 5:15 and 5:45 pm. You will receive an email with the exact time the day before your reservation.
The meal will be made with fresh ingredients, with one animal protein and lots of vegetable-forward sides, and will close with a homemade dessert. We ask about any allergies or restrictions so they can be considered, and let our creativity flow! [Sorry, we don’t have a menu to share.]
The price is per person. Everyone will be seated on a long communal table. Wine is available by the glass or by the bottle from our curated list.
El Pretexto is an adult-only and smoking-free venue. Thanks for your consideration!
To ensure the quality of service, we won't be able to accept any last-minute changes to ingredients. Please be aware of this, as it's very unlikely to accommodate any food allergies or restrictions if they weren’t clarified at the time of booking. Keep in mind that we adjust our kitchen logistics to accommodate your allergies and restrictions. If it is not an allergy, please give yourself the opportunity to try new things and flavors (and make our life easier ;)
The maximum number of people is 20, and all guests will sit at a shared long table. Entering the main building is strictly prohibited, even if the doors are open. Visibly sick people won’t be able to join us; please stay home if that is the case. Thank you!
The price is per person and includes the 4-5 courses served family style, service, and house water. Wine glasses and bottles will be sold separately.
El Pretexto is an adult-only venue; bringing kids under 18 and pets to this event is not allowed.
We reserve the right of admission and permanence in our space.
Our cancellation policy:
Purchase reimbursement will only occur if canceled 48 hours before the event. Why? By this time, we have already purchased all the food for the reserved spaces, and we are counting on your presence. If something unexpected happens, we invite you to let us know and check if a family or friend can purchase your spaces. We will do our best to find someone to buy them for you, but we cannot guarantee it.
